Elementary Faith Formation
The CCE Program of Mary Queen Church is designed
as a complimentary part of the Pastoral Plan. These expectations
are those we strive to achieve to be faithful to the Church’s
comprehensive mission.
The CCE program will be interactive with good formation through
curriculum and outside curriculum interactive activities. This includes
faith filled space and art environments to encourage faith development
and discovery of the Gospel messages. It is based upon Jesus' example
of forming his disciples into a community of faith. Catechist, Aides,
and other roles in the program interact with the children in the
CCE program promoting knowledge of Christian living, prayer, and
communion with the Church through their personal witness. The CCE
program is designed under the guidelines as set forth by the Bishops’
Committee on the Catechism of the Catholic Church. It is designed
for growth in faith as it is related to human development and its
stages.
The CCE program is one small part of the faith formation of children.
This program will reinforce catechesis that the children witness
in their daily lives which will help foster the childrens’
faith. With cooperation of the parents, students, and catechist,
the CCE program is designed to offer a safe and secure Christian
environment.
The CCE program will have an open communication with parents, students,
catechists, etc. This open communication is for routine scheduling
and correspondence with parents as well as resolution of issues
as they arise. Communication from parents and support of catechists
is always encouraged. Problem solving and policy clarification will
primarily be done through the Director of Elementary Faith Formation.
If you have a concern or difficulty that has not been addressed
satisfactorily at the classroom level, please call the CCE office
or Director for help.
